Well, new this morning a Wisconsin teacher is being called a hero because she saved one of her students from suffocating. Samantha Weiss teaches third grade at a school near lacrosse. One of his students was eating an almond bud when it got stuck in his throat. WEISS noticed that something was wrong and immediately took action. Bryson came up to me, he had a sense of panic. It was just scary and all. And I felt like my Mama Bear teacher mode kicked in and I curled up and started Heimlich. Like, I think it was just like an instinct, a great instinct out there that says you never know when something like this might happen, which is why she says it’s really important to pay attention.
